At Coastal Hills Dermatology, cosmetic procedures are performed using evidence-based protocols and advanced medical technology to improve skin quality, structural support, and visible signs of aging. All treatments are customized following a comprehensive consultation to determine medical appropriateness, identify contraindications, and align with each patient’s aesthetic goals.


Neuromodulators

(Botox® and Jeuveau®)

FDA-approved neuromodulators temporarily reduce dynamic facial rhytides caused by repetitive muscle contraction.

What to Expect:
A series of precise injections into targeted muscles. Treatment typically takes 10–15 minutes. Initial effects appear within several days, with full results in 10–14 days.

Downtime:
Minimal. Mild redness, swelling, or bruising may occur temporarily.

Contraindications:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Active infection at injection site

  • Neuromuscular disorders (e.g., myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome)

  • Known hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin products

Pre-Care:

  • Avoid alcohol, aspirin, NSAIDs, vitamin E, fish oil, and other blood-thinning supplements for 3–7 days if medically appropriate

  • Avoid treatment if acutely ill or received a vaccination within 2 weeks of treatment

  • Arrive with clean skin free of makeup


Dermal Fillers

(Juvederm® and Evolysse™)

Hyaluronic acid fillers restore volume and contour while softening static wrinkles.

What to Expect:
Precise injections to targeted areas. Results are visible immediately with refinement as swelling resolves.

Downtime:
Swelling, tenderness, or bruising may occur for several days to two weeks depending on area treated.

Contraindications:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Active skin infection, inflammation, or herpes simplex outbreak

  • History of severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis to filler components

  • Certain autoimmune conditions

Pre-Care:

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications/supplements when medically permissible

  • Consider antiviral prophylaxis if history of cold sores and treating perioral area

  • Avoid dental procedures for 2 weeks before and after treatment when possible


Alma TED™ Hair Restoration

Non-invasive ultrasound-based treatment supporting scalp health and hair density.

What to Expect:
Comfortable topical delivery of growth factor serum to the scalp. Series recommended.

Downtime:
None.

Contraindications:

  • Active scalp infection or open wounds

  • Certain scalp dermatologic conditions as determined by provider

Pre-Care:

  • Wash hair prior to appointment

  • Avoid topical scalp products on day of treatment


Secret™ PRO RF Microneedling

Microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen remodeling and improve texture, laxity, and scarring.

What to Expect:
Topical anesthesia is applied prior to treatment. Gradual improvement occurs over 6 weeks to 3 months. A series of 3 treatments is recommended for optimal results.

Downtime:
Redness and swelling for 1–3 days; mild dryness or flaking possible.

Contraindications:

  • Pregnancy

  • Active skin infection or inflammatory dermatoses at treatment site

  • Implanted electronic devices (e.g., pacemaker)

  • Isotretinoin use within past 6 months

Pre-Care:

  • Discontinue retinoids, exfoliants, and active topicals 5–7 days prior

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning

  • Antiviral prophylaxis if history of herpes simplex "cold sores" in treatment area


Secret™ PRO Fractional CO₂ Resurfacing

Ablative fractional laser resurfacing for advanced photoaging, scars, and deep wrinkles.

What to Expect:
Laser treatment following topical appication of anesthesia to induce controlled skin renewal.

Downtime:
Moderate. Redness, swelling, oozing, and peeling typically 5–10 days or longer depending on treatment depth.

Contraindications:

  • Pregnancy

  • Active infection or impaired wound healing

  • Recent isotretinoin use (provider dependent)

  • History of keloid scarring (relative)

Pre-Care:

  • Strict sun avoidance for several weeks prior

  • Discontinue retinoids and exfoliating agents 1 week prior to treatment

  • Pre-treatment antiviral therapy if you have a history of cold sores

  • Pre-treatment will be provided by the office to use for 1 week prior to treatment


Sciton BBL® (BroadBand Light)

Light-based therapy for pigment, redness, and photodamage.

What to Expect:
Series of light pulses delivered to treatment area. Pigmented lesions may temporarily darken before resolving.

Downtime:
Minimal. Mild redness for several hours to one day.

Contraindications:

  • Recent sun exposure or tanning

  • Photosensitizing medications such as certain antibiotics

  • Active skin infection

  • Certain skin types depending on settings

Pre-Care:

  • Avoid sun exposure and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment

  • Discontinue application of topical products such as retinoids, vitamin c serum, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid

  • Arrive with clean skin


Laser Hair Reduction

Laser treatment targeting hair follicles for long-term hair reduction.

What to Expect:
Series of 6-8 treatments spaced about 4-8 weeks apart according to hair growth cycles.

Downtime:
Minimal. Temporary redness or perifollicular swelling may occur.

Contraindications:

  • Recent tanning or sunburn

  • Active skin infection in treatment area

  • Certain photosensitizing medications

Pre-Care:

  • Shave treatment area 24 hours prior

  • Avoid waxing, plucking, or electrolysis for several weeks prior

  • Avoid sun exposure and self-tanners
